Job Summary:

The Business Process Manager is responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall performance across the organization. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for optimization, establish best practices, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. The individual will leverage methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile to streamline operations, reduce costs, and ensure alignment with strategic business objectives. Key responsibilities include executing continuous improvement initiatives, monitoring performance metrics, and delivering innovative solutions that contribute to operational excellence and sustainable growth. Serves as a backup to the Business Process Owner (Director).

The Operational Excellence team is a high performing, adaptable, results oriented team to streamline processes, integration automation, and support the evaluation and execution of project initiatives to ensure the areas we are focused on are providing the best, most efficient, and cost-effective service. The Business Process Manager reports to the Business Process Owner (Director) in the Operational Excellence team and will have an initial acute focus on one of the following 5 functions in North American Retail Insurance Accounting: Cash Applications/Receivables, Invoicing, Producer/Broker Payables, Premium Payables or Direct Bill. 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Interpretation:

  • Ability to analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.

  • Proficiency in building dashboards and scorecards for tracking service performance and ensuring SLAs are met

Report Design & Visualization:

  • Expertise in creating clear, impactful dashboards and reports using tools like Excel and Power BI

  • Strong storytelling skills to present data insights effectively to non-technical audiences

Attention to Detail:

  • Ensures data accuracy and consistency in reporting

  • Ability to troubleshoot errors in data collection, calculations, or visualizations

  • Meticulous in documenting step-by-step (QRGs) of a process to ensure accuracy and completeness

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver tailor metrics

Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving:

  • Understands the business context behind metrics and reporting

  • Develops KPIs aligned with organizational goals

Process Mapping & Workflow Design

  • Expertise in Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for creating process maps, flowcharts, and diagrams

  • Ability to document workflows clearly and concisely for various audiences

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Works closely with stakeholders to gather process requirements and confirm accuracy

  • Strong ability to translate technical processes into easily understandable language for non-technical audiences

Program Management & Process Improvement:

Project management skills acquired through the management of small to medium-sized projects

Supervisor Responsibility:

The Business Process Manager will oversee and guide employees’ work within the business process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and process standards. While they have no direct reports, they are responsible for influencing performance, fostering collaboration, and driving accountability among team members involved in the processes they manage.

Education/Experience:

Minimum of 5 - 7 years of transferrable experience

Bachelor's degree required in Business Related field: i.e., (business administration, management, operations management, insurance, accounting)

Preferred: Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and/or other process improvement methodologies

Travel Requirements

This role may require in-state, out-of-state, and international travel.
