Supply Chain Senior Manager - Global Supply Chain Lead

What you will do

Reporting to the Global Product Planning Lead within the Global Supply Chain Organization. Accountable for developing product lifecycle management supply chain strategies for mature/decline-stage products with reduced scope and complexity. Lead initiatives to optimize financials through cost and cash management and inventory optimization, while ensuring reliable patient supply. Accountable to lead and represent product supply chain teams, working in partnership with regional and site functions to meet supply and inventory goals.

Responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Primary focus is to provide resilient leadership in orchestrating the LRS & Planning cycles and make decisions on business-critical Life cycle management and implementation of product strategies.
  • Interface across functions including Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Regulatory, and Quality at various level of detail, with the ability to summarize and highlight issues to Executive Management
  • Ensure every patient every time by driving supply risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity with engagement from a wide matrixed team (through PDT, Mfg Sites and commercial)

Execution

  • Provide end-to-end global planning oversight for Amgen Commercial products in the Mature/Decline phase, bridging regions, sites and Global Network Planning to drive supply requirements through monthly planning cycles and annual Long Range Scenario process.
  • Drive end-to-end Supply Chain visibility through the leadership of Supply Chain Teams including analysis of global demand trends, defining impact on manufacturing, and recommendation of mitigations to optimize product financials through scrap management and inventory optimization
  • Be a leading voice for global supply chain in cross-functional groups such as Product Delivery Teams. Proactively identify and advise on risks, impacts, and opportunities to improve supply chain strategies.
  • Define product variation supply strategies for new launches and post approval changes while ensuring integration and alignment with site, region, and network to enable planning of supply where jurisdictional restrictions may apply
  • Business process owner and manager of global product planning business processes for Annual Working Cell Bank Supply Management, Global Temperature Excursion Form generation, Supply Chain reporting to Tax & Treasury Departments and Global Master Data Request.
  • Performs pre-planning quality checks to ensure MRP integrity and balances supply plans amongst several manufacturing stages/sites that supports demand and maintains safety stock levels
  • Controls supply transition plans amongst existing supply chain nodes based on changes to supply, demand or regulatory assumption
  • Reviews Supply Planning Quality Checks to ensure supply plan integrity at Planning Cycle completion
  • Maintains/manages global master data within Amgen’s planning system.
  • Up to 25% domestic and international travel

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Supply Chain, Operations or directly related experience

Or

Master’s degree and 4 years of Supply Chain, or Operations experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Supply Chain, or Operations experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Supply Chain, or Operations experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Supply Chain, or Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in the application of advanced planning techniques as it relates to demand, supply, inventory planning, financials, and Mfg. network planning.
  • Excellent communication capabilities and must be comfortable and confident dealing with all levels of management within the organization.
  • 7 plus years of experience in global pharmaceutical, biotech or any other industry
  • Solid understanding of demand/supply planning, Supply Chain principles, and logistics
  • Ability to perform system based advanced supply planning and scenario analysis
  • Detail oriented with strong business analytical skills and company-wide knowledge
  • Process oriented mindset with willingness to call out gaps and seek solutions
  • Perseverance and independent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of COGM, COGS and NPV analyses
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high personal integrity

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
