Role Summary:
The Vice President, Human Resources is a strategic HR partner overseeing a diverse client group of 500+ employees across multiple functions at Synchrony India. This role drives the HR agenda to align talent strategy with business goals, fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture. The position influences organizational effectiveness through leadership in talent management, employee relations, and change management. As a key HR leader, this role is critical to advancing employee engagement and strategic organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders to recruit, develop, and retain top talent aligned with the company’s innovation goals.
Develop and execute talent and engagement strategies to build a high-performing, agile workforce in line with business objectives.
Lead organizational design, change management, and workforce planning initiatives to drive business transformation.
Build and guide an effective HR team, championing company values and elevating HR’s role as a trusted business partner.
Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and programs, ensuring compliance and consistency across the organization.
Oversee compensation planning and performance management in partnership with business leaders.
Provide expert guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and complex investigations, ensuring fair and timely outcomes.
Analyze HR metrics and case trends to proactively address organizational needs and recommend strategic solutions.
Facilitate leadership development, succession planning, and strategies for identifying and growing high-potential talent.
Partner with Legal, Compliance, Security, People Analytics, and global/regional HR teams to align HR practices and resolve matters effectively.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, embedding them into talent frameworks and organizational culture.
Act as a culture steward and change agent, leading programs that foster innovation, engagement, and employee advocacy.
Develop and manage HR team capabilities, cultivating a strong HR bench for future growth.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (required). Masters degree preferred.
12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in dynamic, innovative environments.
Proven ability to link HR strategy to business outcomes and influence senior stakeholders.
Strong understanding of local labor laws, HR best practices, and talent management strategies.
Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, and independent decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, coaching, interpersonal, and relationship management skills at all levels.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); strong data analysis and presentation skills.
Flexible to work in evening shifts as required.

Work Schedule: This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
