Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for a Staff Logistician and ILS Lead located in Colorado Springs, CO to support the Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS) program.

Position is Mon – Fri on-site: may require on-call, evening, and weekend support during system anomalies and or mission requirements. Travel required approximately 10%.
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Logistics Team Lead for our Colorado Springs, CO facility. The logistics team lead will work with staff to provide daily oversight and guidance and is responsible for directing the execution of the overall Logistics effort on the program. This position will maintain responsibility for the implementation and compliance of safety protocol in the day-to-day operation of the logistics team. The team lead will provide leadership over Logistics functions (receiving, shipping, warehouse and transportation) to meet and exceed customer requirements, while maintaining compliance with all facility and company policies, practices and procedures and FAR government regulations. This role will oversee and support the execution of continuous improvement of logistics processes relating to the safe and efficient receipt, storage, distribution, and shipment of product at the facility. This candidate must be able to build strategic relationships with internal customers to support overall site needs. The team lead will use company business systems to drive improvement, monitor process effectiveness, as well as to anticipate and resolve issues.
Responsibilities include:
- Interfaces with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, System Architect, other engineering team leads, as well as the customer.
- Prepare RFI, RFP and RFQ responses
- Lead day-to-day activities within each logistics function, includes but is not limited to communication, problem resolution, service level commitments, and safety reviews.
- Monitor various departmental performance metrics and objectives to achieve customer promise expectations and ensure service level commitments are achieved
- Communicate and train tasking requirements to associates and act as the primary information source for the team, taking corrective action when needed
- Responsible for the day to day logistic, inventory, and property management effort in support of the JTAGS program and customer.
- Receive and process material and equipment from vendors, other contractors, and commercial couriers.
- Perform quality check of material and equipment to ensure they are received in good working order and condition.
- Pack and prepare equipment and material to support scheduled and unscheduled remote site maintenance and repair, off site testing, and new system installation and test requirements.
- Maintain and order logistics supplies.
- Performs data entry and updates of the site inventory database.
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong cross-functional team leadership and communication skills
- Previous experience as a people manager, team lead, supervisor and/or relevant role.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience with Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of experience with Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- Active Secret Clearance (non-interim)
- Working knowledge of DAF Logistics standards, procedures, and methods
- Experience with Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) and managing government property, including GFP/GFE
- Experience working in Logistics Management, Warehouse Management and Optimization, and Inventory Control and Management
- Experience in International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITARS)
- Experience in Integrated Product Support
- Experience in Item Unique Identification (IUID) tagging and reporting in the government IUID database
- Experience in Warranty Management
- Experience in Obsolescence Surveillance of system components, such as servers, storage hardware, cabling, rack equipment, antenna equipment, power supplies, and network devices
- Experience in Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation, including experience with different methods of expedited transport of unclassified and classified material to OCONUS military installations (e.g., Milair, freight forwarder, TMO, etc.)
- Experience in coordinating, purchasing, and managing equipment/material spares & repairs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
- Experience with Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR)
- Experience with USAF/USSF Technical Orders and training documentation
- Experience in Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health, such as relevant DoD standards, procedures, best practices, and documentation
- Experience documenting safety protocols, procedures, and material information on Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and Ozone Depleting Chemicals/Substance
- Experience with supplier management and supplier quality, including counterfeit prevention, DMSMS, and supply chain risk management
- Experience with Logistics specialty engineering areas such as: Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) engineering, FRACAS/FMECA, and Human Factors Engineering
- Experience in corrosion prevention & control
- Experience with SAP S/4 systems and transactions for Logistics and Warehouse Management (e.g., purchase orders, inventory, etc.)
Salary Range: $112,600.00 - $169,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
