Your Job:

Provide operator services, police dispatch, emergency systems monitoring, and alert/code
paging for physicians, visitors, and staff.

Your Job Requirements:

  • Able to handle stressful situations and make decisions in a timely manner

  • Able to organize work and work area with time constraints in a fast paced environment

  • Able to professionally and effectively communicate (orally and in writing).

  • Able to work flexible schedule at various campuses within the MHS system

  • Computer skills, operating systems not limited to Microsoft Office

  • Demonstrates adaptability and is able to flex schedule and perform other duties in the department as needed.

  • Demonstrates good customer service skills. Is able to listen and understand customer needs and follows up to assure that both parties are mutually satisfied with the service provided.

  • Demonstrates initiative, is a self starter

  • Work Experience: 6 months in multi-line phone operation and radio dispatching required; 6 months communications experience in healthcare or hospital setting preferred


Your Job Responsibilities:

  • Answer and direct incoming calls. Provide assistance and directory services.

  • Attend annual safety training and complete necessary safety training requirements.

  • Dispatch appropriate personnel in the event of emergency situations, alerts, group contact utilizing various contact means including paging, radio, and electronic notification tools.

  • Maintain activity logs for Police Department, engineering, and other staff as directed/required by position.

  • Monitor and react to alarms (i.e. code red, code blue, alert I/II, code EMRT). Monitor the fire system and panic alarm system and respond according to policy.

  • Provide dispatching services for MHS Police Department, engineering, and other staff utilizing two-way radio communication on campus.
