Boys Town is seeking a dedicated and experienced Foundation Relations Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in securing funding for our organizations’ initiatives and programs. You will be responsible for writing proposals and other supporting documents at the national level and affiliate site level. You will also assist with researching grant opportunities and submitting timely and accurate reports for funded grant projects. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Conducts the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.

  • Contributes to tactical planning for Development and manages an effective calendar for a successful grant seeking program that supports Boys Town’s Strategic Initiatives.

  • Researches corporations and foundations to identify sources of funding for Boys Town initiatives utilizing internet and reference resources; responds to Affiliate Site requests for corporation and foundation information.

  • Facilitates, writes, and edits grant applications and proposals according to format required, and submits application to funding agency or foundation after it is approved.

  • Meets with or calls representatives of funding sources to work out final details of proposal when necessary.

  • Coordinates with internal sources to obtain all information required to complete the proposal in a timely manner.

  • Research external data to provide compelling need statements.

  • Maintains library of proposal examples and supporting information including internal data from National Database and Boys Town Translational Research Center.

  • Tracks proposal process and grant reporting requirements; maintains current records on active grant proposals in the database.

  • Assists in writing periodic reports to comply with grant requirements.

  • Contributes to tactical planning for Development and maintains an effective plan and calendar for a successful grant seeking program that supports Boys Town’s Strategic Initiatives.

  • Coordinates grant writing activities with Youth Care and Boys Town National Research Hospital.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals with attention to accuracy.

  • Strong project management skills. Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities.

  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining good relationships with colleagues.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

  • Team player with capacity to be resourceful and respond to a changing environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to learn and utilize sophisticated donor database software; experience preferred.

  • Ability and desire to engage in conversation with donors and staff via the phone and written correspondence in an articulate, pleasant, and confident manner.

  • Must have strong service orientation and commitment to assisting others with enthusiasm and professionalism.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, journalism, marketing, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Minimum two years related experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in writing grant proposals or program descriptions and managing grants processes preferred.
