The role of the Cleveland Clinic security team is indispensable in maintaining the safety and security of caregivers and patients. Members of the Cleveland Clinic security team will undergo training and obtain relevant certifications. This includes training in first aid, emergency response, and the use of surveillance technology. Continuous professional development ensures that the team is up to date with the latest security practices.  

 

A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend, 8:00am—5:00pm. This position will work at multiple sites depending on the protection or investigative assignments. There will be travel assignments with this position.

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Investigate and analyze restricted sensitive matters relating to staff, non-staff employees and others whose activities may have an impact on the Cleveland 

  • Conduct and assist with risk assessment and the development and implementation of countermeasures. 

  • Identify vulnerabilities and evaluate or prioritize the risks. 

  • Develop an employee training program which stresses awareness and personnel responsibility for security. 

  • Conduct in-service training within topical area of expertise which offers continuity and provides a continuing positive effect on police operations. 

  • Provide executive protection to local, state, federal and foreign dignitaries, and celebrities. 

  • Gather protective intelligence and performs risk analysis. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field. 

  • 5 years of law enforcement or investigative experience. 

  • OR additional 4 years of law enforcement or investigative experience may substitute degree requirement. 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Certification for a State or Federal law enforcement training (OPOTA) center.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC, normal or corrected vision, and extensive standing and frequent walking.

  • Ability to qualify with firearms.
