Position Summary...

The transaction tax compliance team is responsible for timely and accurate reporting of sales/use, gross receipts, product, and excise taxes as well as the related accounting activities for all business lines. This team partners closely with the sales tax operations, indirect tax audit, and tax tech and data teams to ensure the company meets its transaction tax obligations. The transaction scale and scope of complexity of taxation at Walmart will attract individuals who are excited to navigate undefined challenges and are engaged by intellectually stimulating work.

What you'll do...

Support monthly transaction tax compliance processes. Manage tax notice resolution activities within established KPIs. Contribute to monthly close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Certify account reconciliations for transaction tax accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Work closely with the Sales Tax Operations, Indirect Tax Audit and Tax Technology and Data teams to enhance processes and governance. Collaborate with the licensing and permits team to ensure necessary licenses are obtained, maintained and closed. Support new business initiatives to ensure proper reporting and accounting controls are implemented. Conduct tax research and provide technical advice on reporting requirements. Identify and implement process improvements to current workflows. Drive implementation of short and long-term strategic initiatives. Work with tax and business teams to ensure an accurate audit trail is maintained and readily accessible to support returns filed. Mentor and develop team members, offering feedback and growth opportunities.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field and 3 years’ experience in accounting, finance, income tax
compliance, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in accounting, finance, income tax compliance, or related area.
