Role Description 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant team at UM London and play a major role across three key brands in the agency; Levi’s, Fidelity & AMEX, planning and executing campaigns and projects across the UK with a focus on both B2C and B2B audiences across this wide range of product areas 

Reporting to the Account Manager, the role is ideal for someone looking to elevate their experience as an Account Executive and take on the next step in their career; growing their leadership capabilities, as well as an eye and appetite for delivering on planning excellence that delivers brand growth; two areas that are very important for these clients.  

As a Communications Planner, you will be a key day-to-day point of contact for clients and be responsible for supporting in the agency’s media planning of activity & managing the delivery of these services to our clients. You will also have opportunities to own specific plans & determine the organisation/how accounts are managed.

You will bring together the respective subject-matter experts from across various Business Units (Strategy, Audiences, Programmatic, Social, Search, Print, AV, OOH, Partnerships, Analytics), acting as the operating ‘glue’ between the many different stakeholders and using technology to connect workstreams and drive collaboration, giving great experience in understanding how channels, technologies and touchpoints work together to drive connected campaigns & customer experiences.

You will set and maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and excellence in all client deliverables, ultimately helping the Team to deliver “best-in-class”, innovative work that with grow client’s businesses

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the Account Manager and Executive to deliver the day-to-day running of the accounts, including end-to-end campaign media planning, trafficking, implementation and reporting, alongside any ad hoc requests.
  • Foster strong relationships with specialist teams, owning internal briefing and supporting Manager in reviewing outputs to ensure “best-in-class” activity is delivered for clients
  • To support the Account Manager & Director with strategic planning & identifying opportunities for growth across Levi’s, Fidelity & AMEX Accounts
  • Owning and Maintaining strong account hygiene across media finance & billing tools (alongside Account Executive), delivering updates on these topics to clients where necessary
  • Supporting junior team members (Account Executive) in understanding the media planning process, specialist planning/insight/finance tools alongside organisation and timings.
  • Working with the Account Manager & Director to identify and champion innovative media solutions in every media plan and push the boundaries of conventional communication thinking. 
  • Organise and develop relationships with external media partners – where necessary for planning.
  • Embrace and contribute to regular internal team meeting, sharing knowledge and best practice & taking part in internal/external training for development

 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience agency-side as an account executive/planner, managing and maintaining account hygiene and delivering media plans/activation for clients. 
  • Strong organisation, multitasking and project management skills.
  • Good presentation skills; must be comfortable presenting in front of clients and internal teams.
  • Strong understanding marketing theory & interest in growing expertise further through training & internal projects
  • Have a good understanding of offline and digital media channels, ideally with proven experience planning across the UK
  • Super interpersonal skills, with an interest in learning and developing understanding across a range of media channels and specialisms from a range of specialist teams
  • Be able to confidently challenge and question assumptions and recommendations that have been made to ensure the best possible delivery for the client. 
  • Experience using Media planning tools, specific experience with Nielsen Ad Intel, Yougov, Commscore, TGI is a plus
  • Experience with Media finance tools, including Prisma. Experience with MX Explorer & MX Stats is a plus
