Provide leadership and vision for strategic planning of property, design development, and construction in accordance with Company policies and government regulations. Direct continuous property expansion and improvement, and manage natural resources. Lead the Property Management Department in accordance with Company policy and state and federal regulations by using skills and experience in business management, leadership, risk management, human resources development, and professional development to provide excellent service to every customer and achieve departmental service and financial goals.Essential Job Functions: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Business & Sales ManagementCustomer service – Monitor areas of responsibility to assist in providing a high level of customer service necessary to achieve targeted goals. Lead, support internal customers to achieve individual, team departmental and company goals.
Process Management – Direct the acquisition, development, and planned use of cemetery property to conserve resources. Oversee construction projects throughout the cemetery. Plan and design improvements to cemetery property in accordance with Company policies and government regulations. Understand the process required to obtain entitlements and permits and take action to procure them in a timely manner. Proactively identify cost savings and revenue enhancement opportunities. Evaluate specifications for plan procedures, start and completion dates, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction projects. Hire, direct and motivate supervisory personnel, subcontractors and staff engaged in planning and executing projects. Inspect property under construction on a regular basis to ensure the work conforms to specifications, budget and schedule. Recommend and implement changes to guarantee customer satisfaction and change processes and/or policies to improve productivity.
Budget – Monitor expenses and capital expenditures for assigned cost centers & capital projects within approved guidelines and provide detailed information for analysis as necessary. Establish safeguards against fraud, waste, and inefficiency.
Policies & procedures – Ensure that written policies and procedures are current for all key business processes, and that staff is well informed and trained in them; ensure that any new policies and procedures comply with the SCI Health & Safety manual. Adhere to safety rules and regulations, and report unsafe practices to Safety Coordinator.
Goods and services – Ensure that the goods and services the department provides are aligned with customer needs and support the Company’s strategic initiatives.

Experience and Education
Five years or more of supervisory or management experience required
Ten years’ experience in the design, development, and operation of cemeteries
B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent Business Administration courses a plus
Special Skills
Valid CA Driver’s License required Skilled at managing natural resources Platform speaking and presenting to groups Lead teams and mentor team members
Ability to read and understand complex state and federal regulations Knowledge of construction techniques and processes

Working Environment
Work around construction projects outdoors in a variety of weather conditions; work near moving machinery, and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; occasionally work exposed to fumes, dust, or airborne particles, mud, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The noise level from equipment is usually loud to very loud. Occasionally travels both within California, and outside the State. Must be able to remain positive, calm, and composed during stressful situations; and present a professional appearance at all times. Must work daily with interruptions and changing schedules; be able to work a flexible schedule, depending on business needs; work occasional evenings and/or weekends.
Physical Requirements
Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms; occasionally is required to sit on equipment, and grasp levers and handles and stand, talk, and hear; occasionally is required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50# and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100#. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Compensation:
$120k - $160k per year
