How You Make a Difference

As an EDI Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the communication between Samsung’s internal systems and our external partners. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that EDI transactions such as orders, shipping notifications, and invoicing are efficiently managed. You will work closely with various teams, including SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) and LE (Logistics Execution), to integrate EDI processes into the SAP landscape and ensure alignment with business requirements. While you won't be developing systems, your deep understanding of how they work will be essential to ensuring the smooth operation of EDI transactions and integrations. You will troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize workflows, playing a key role in the operational efficiency of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• EDI Configuration & Maintenance: Configure, monitor, and maintain EDI transactions, specifically ORDERS, DESADV, and INVOIC document types.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to set up and maintain EDI connections with customers and suppliers.
• Issue Resolution: Analyze and resolve EDI errors or discrepancies, ensuring timely and accurate data exchanges.
• SAP Integration: Work closely with the SAP SD and LE teams to integrate EDI processes into the SAP landscape, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• EDI Mapping & Standards: Coordinate with trading partners to implement and test EDI mappings and standards (e.g., EDIFACT, XML).
• Workflow Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor EDI workflows and troubleshoot issues to ensure operational efficiency.
• Onboarding & Updates: Support the onboarding of new trading partners and handle updates to existing EDI setups.
• Documentation & Compliance: Document EDI processes, configurations, and issue resolutions for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes.
• Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and standards in EDI and SAP integration technologies.

You excel in problem-solving, using a logical approach to optimize processes and drive efficiency. Your analytical skills help interpret data for informed decision-making. You lead cross-functional teams, aligning everyone towards shared goals. With strong communication and collaboration skills, you resolve complex EDI issues and ensure compliance, contributing to the team’s success and operational excellence.

We also request:

• A completed HBO or University degree, preferably in a science or technical field.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in EDI operations with successful EDI projects implementation, with a focus on ORDERS, DESADV, and INVOIC messages. In-depth knowledge of SAP SD and LE modules.
• Experience in integrating SAP with EDI solutions (e.g., IDocs, XML).
• Strong understanding of EDI standards and formats such as EDIFACT, ANSI X12, and related protocols (AS2, FTP, VAN).
• Proficiency in using EDI mapping tools and middleware (e.g., Seeburger, IBM Sterling, or similar).
