We’re looking for a Staff iOS Engineer to join the Sharing team!
We’re a highly collaborative team focused on growing Snapchat DAU; both on- and off-platform. This is an opportunity to drive one of our most critical metrics and ship new experiences to millions of Snapchatters.
What you’ll do:
Drive multi-year technical strategies through direct implementation and broad technical influence.
Own outcomes in some of our most ambiguous and technically challenging areas to grow Snapchat DAU.
Collaborate with Product, Design, and partner teams to implement best-in-class experiences for Snapchatters.
Strongly influence the team’s roadmap, overall output, and ensure we’re focused on the customer experience.
Model lead-by-example excellence; consistently provide high-quality code reviews, evaluate technical tradeoffs, be a bar-raiser across multiple technical venues, and mentor junior engineers.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proven understanding of Swift, Objective-C, and processes which run “under the hood”
Knowledge of the OS internals, compilers, optimization for low-power and mobile systems
Proficiency with multithreading and performance optimization techniques for iOS
Strong CS fundamentals (algorithms and data structures) and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of software design patterns and iOS best practices
Strong product sense and attention to detail
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in technical field such as computer science, mathematics, statistics or equivalent years of experience
11+ years of experience in developing mobile applications for the iOS environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Swift, Objective-C, and iOS
Experience with backend systems, e.g. Kubernetes, Golang, and AWS
Experience with leading teams of engineers

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $222,000-$333,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
