The Regulatory Capital Interpretation and Analysis Team (“CIAT”) within the Chief Risk Office - FInance (“FINCRO”) provides the second line independent review and approval of regulatory capital interpretative conclusions made by the Regulatory Capital Policy Group (‘RCPG”) within Finance- Capital Controllers for complex transactions globally. As a control function, CIAT plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of Citi’s externally reported RWA actuals under Basel III and is actively involved in the internal review and approval of the proposed Basel III Endgame enhancements.
The Basel RWA Generalist will report to the Head of CIAT, a Managing Director, and will act in a support role for senior members of CIAT staff during the review and challenge of regulatory capital analyses and treatment conclusions for new products and complex transactions. Globally, CIAT performs an advisory role on more than 100 complex transactions each year. The scope of the role is both capital policy and transaction-oriented and there is extensive interaction with senior members of the Business, Line Risk, Legal and RCPG during the transaction structuring, review, and approval process. The Basel RWA Generalist will also participate in a supporting role in the new product approval process during the review and approval of a wide range of new and complex banking products.

This role provides a unique opportunity to learn and grow in a collaborative team comprised of subject matter experts through active participation in live transaction analysis. The Basel RWA Generalist will develop an in-depth knowledge of the US Basel Rules across exposure types, deepen their risk management knowledge, and gain a unique firm-wide perspective of Citigroup’s businesses and products. The role will involve significant interaction with FINCRO members, Capital Controllers, Accounting Policy, Wholesale Credit Risk, Legal and the Business. The Basel RWA Generalist will participate in a variety of important strategic RWA projects, including the development of regulatory capital polices and the implementation of the expected Basel III end game enhancements, and will develop a strong understanding of the end-to-end processes impacting RWA at Citigroup globally.
