Job Title: CL8 – Associate Manager Role: Japanese Language Translator / Interpreter Summary Associate Manager – Japanese Language Translator/Interpreter will be responsible for providing high-quality Japanese–English translation and interpretation support for business operations, client communications, and internal stakeholders. The role requires strong linguistic proficiency, cultural understanding, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic corporate environment. Roles & Responsibilities Provide real-time interpretation (Japanese English) during client meetings, business discussions, workshops, and leadership calls. Translate business documents, technical documents, emails, presentations, contracts, and reports with high accuracy. Support cross-functional teams in bridging communication gaps between Japanese clients and internal teams. Ensure cultural alignment and appropriate business etiquette during communications. Review and proofread translated materials to ensure quality and consistency. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive business information. Coordinate with project managers and leadership to ensure smooth execution of deliverables. Mentor junior translators/interpreters (if applicable) and ensure quality standards are maintained. Manage stakeholder expectations and act as a communication liaison for Japanese accounts. Support business development initiatives involving Japanese clients when required. Professional & Technical Skills Proficiency in Japanese language (JLPT N1/N2 preferred). Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English. Experience in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation. Strong understanding of Japanese business culture and etiquette. Experience in translating technical, IT, business, or domain-specific documentation (preferred). Ability to handle multiple stakeholders and work under tight deadlines. Good knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong attention to detail and quality orientation. Leadership and team collaboration skills suitable for Associate Manager level. Additional Information Experience: 6–10 years of relevant experience in translation/interpretation. Education: Bachelor s degree required certification in Japanese language preferred. Work Model: Hybrid/Onsite (based on business requirement). Shift: Flexible to align with Japan business hours. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a global environment are essential.
