Our team is expanding to support a growing portfolio of Ciena products in Thailand, creating an opportunity to drive reliable, efficient product delivery across the supply chain. This role plays a critical part in balancing supply and demand across the product lifecycle while partnering closely with manufacturing and supplier ecosystems. The impact of this work is directly tied to customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, and operational excellence.

How you will make an impact:

  • Develop and manage the product Master Production Schedule (MPS) in an outsourced manufacturing environment

  • Coordinate rolling weekly material and production schedules with EMS partners and drive execution against plan

  • Communicate delivery commitments and schedule changes with scheduling and fulfillment teams

  • Lead expediting activities to mitigate supply or production risks

  • Perform what-if analysis and rough-cut capacity planning to project shipment dates

  • Drive phase-in/phase-out and end-of-life component analysis to support engineering and product changes

  • Identify and implement supply chain process improvements that improve agility, lead-times, and delivery reliability

The must haves:

Education:

  • University degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or Engineering

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in material management, including at least four of the following: material planning or master scheduling for a mid-to-large business; sourcing or procurement for a mid-to-large business; managing production lines for an EMS or contract manufacturer; new product introduction or project management; multi-plant or multicultural contract manufacturer management

  • Application of MRP/ERP systems and materials management or procurement standards and procedures

  • Utilization of just-in-time principles such as Kanban, pull systems, VMI, or SMI

  • Coordination with suppliers to maintain delivery commitment accuracy and system data integrity

  • Management of inventory levels to support demand variability through EMS partners

  • Analysis and management of expediting fees to support production plans

  • Execution of purchase orders for finished goods upon approval

  • Oversight of material movement, including outside processing and customer returns

  • Monitoring of key components to ensure security of supply strategies are in place

  • Escalation of third-party supply issues and engagement with global commodity teams as needed

  • Participation in cross-functional production and supplier meetings to ensure on-time builds and shipments

  • Provision of forecast visibility to EMS partners based on historical data and upcoming customer projects

  • Serving as the primary point of contact between scheduling, global order fulfillment, distribution teams, and EMS partners

Nice to haves:

Certifications:

  • APICS certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, or CIRM

  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training (Green Belt or Black Belt)

  • PMP certification

Experience:

  • Utilization of Oracle ERP systems

  • Application of business tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Macros, E2Open, Informatica, or Hyperion

  • Experience working across multiple plants or multicultural environments
