Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Air Vehicle (AV) Production and Sustainment deputy program lead to support USN Triton program. The position is located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

The AV Production and Sustainment deputy lead supports the AV IPT Production and Sustainment lead and AV IPT Director in providing technical integration and management for the Triton Production and Sustainment program efforts.  The AV Production and Sustainment deputy lead supports the AV IPT Production and Sustainment lead in execution of a structured and disciplined process that invokes positive technical management and control over the AV Production and Sustainment program efforts. This position will have accountability for cost, schedule and technical performance of analysis documentation, hardware development, certification/verification and test, release schedule and support to fellow IPTs and program/functional leadership and will take assignments from the AV Production and Sustainment lead and the Air Vehicle Director. The candidate will support the lead in providing daily direction to the organization and reporting to leadership to ensure sustainment program goals are achieved. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, planning and communication skills, earned value cost/schedule management skills, report writing, proposal development, performance evaluations.  Some travel required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Acts as a program POC in all phases of Triton Air Vehicle Production and Sustainment program efforts from inception (proposal development) through completion (contract closeout)

  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of the Triton Air Vehicle Production and Sustainment program efforts as assigned by the Production and Sustainment lead

  • Coordinates closely with the Triton Sustainment Chief Engineer, Program Manager and the other Triton Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leaders to ensure that Triton program objectives are met

  • Supports the Technical Review Board process for the sustainment program

  • Reports program performance and health metrics to the AV IPT lead and to program leadership

  • Responsible for proposal development and strategy and support

  • Develops and fosters customer and supplier relationships

  • Develops and adheres to Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)

  • Develops and adheres to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (M) methodologies

  • Integrates requirements vertically and horizontally across the project to ensure successful execution

  • Briefs Northrop Grumman management and NAVAIR customers on project status

  • Identifies and mitigates risks

  • Works with multiple teams and cross-functional departments

  • Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes

  • Coordinates the preparation of proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of related experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related experience

  • Related experience which includes the following areas: professional and/or military experience with project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions

  • Demonstrated experience as a team lead and/or management experience

  • Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management processes

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Active DoD Secret clearance granted or renewed within the last 6 years or is enrolled in continuous evaluation

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams as well as multi-million-dollar budgets

  • Engineering/Technical background/understanding

  • Logistics Experience (Supply support/Spares provisioning/Operations/Maintenance/CLS)

  • US Navy acquisition process knowledge (POM cycle, colors or money)

  • Successfully demonstrated balancing customer, employee, and shareholder objectives

Salary Range: $133,000.00 - $199,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
