Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver the quarterly NBV results, including model run coordination, result validation, NBV projection, and movement analysis, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Oversee working and control validation to ensure the integrity of the end-to-end NBV production workflow.
  • Drive the monthly NBV forecast and prepare business review meeting materials, working closely with the Product Pricing team, Distribution, Controller, and regional teams.
  • Lead NBV-related local and regional initiatives, basis change modelling, and system initiatives, including documentation and control standardization.
  • Manage technical enquiries from various stakeholders, including internal parties, regional teams, and external reviewers.


Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified or nearly qualified fellow of a professional actuarial organization
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in the insurance industry, with experience in valuation, financial reporting, or new business value / embedded value being advantageous.
  • Solid actuarial knowledge and experience, with specific expertise in NBV / embedded value, IFRS17, and/or HKRBC reporting within a direct life insurer being a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work with complex financial issues and concepts, coupled with keen attention to detail.
  • Value good process and control, with the capability to deliver results under pressure and within tight reporting deadlines.
  • Strong technical / modelling skills; knowledge or experience in Python, AXIS, or PathWise is an asset.
  • Capable of functioning effectively as both an individual contributor and a team player, with good communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Effective command of English, both spoken and written.
