About the Role

As a team member within the Management Reporting & Analytics function, this role will support the development and delivery of advanced analytics and strategic insights to support senior management decision-making. This role plays a critical part in delivering the enhanced financial planning, forecasting, and performance management through data-driven approaches and advanced modelling techniques.

The position will assist in shaping and executing the FP&A analytics agenda, including strengthening forward-looking forecasting capabilities, improving data governance, and accelerating automation and digitalisation initiatives. It also facilitates the team as a strategic partner to Finance, Actuarial, and Business teams, translating complex data into actionable insights that influence business outcomes and strategic direction.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise in data analytics and modelling, financial and insurance domain knowledge, and experience in delivering analytics transformation and execution within a dynamic financial services environment.

This role contributes to the delivery of customer outcomes that are reliable, thoughtful, and create meaningful impact for customers and society. The role holder is expected to embed a customer first mindset in all decisions and actions by developing a clear understanding of customer needs, taking end to end ownership to resolve issues, and working collaboratively across teams to continuously enhance the customer journey—both directly and indirectly.

Roles and Responsibilities:


Data Analytics & Insights

  • Analyse financial and business data (e.g., ANP, VONB, expenses, margins) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and planning processes through data‑driven insights
  • Develop dashboards and visualisations to support management decision‑making

 

Modelling Development

  • Build and maintain predictive and statistical models (e.g., forecasting, scenario simulations, sensitivity analysis)
  • Support profitability analysis across products, channels, and customer segments
  • Enhance existing FP&A models with advanced analytics techniques

 

Data Management & Automation

  • Extract, cleanse, and transform data from multiple sources (e.g., finance systems, actuarial outputs, business data)
  • Automate recurring reports and processes using various tools
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to governance standards

 

Business Partnering

  • Collaborate with FP&A, actuarial, and business teams to understand analytical needs
  • Translate complex data outputs into clear, actionable insights for non‑technical stakeholders
  • Provide ad‑hoc analysis to support senior management and strategic initiatives

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency and analytical capabilities
  • Support finance transformation initiatives (e.g., digitalisation, adoption of advanced analytics)
  • Stay up to date with emerging data science tools and methodologies

 

Minimum Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or related discipline
  • 0–5 years of experience in data analytics, data science, or finance-related roles
  • Experience in insurance or financial services is an advantage
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
  • Strong data extraction and manipulation skills
  • Experience in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) designing executive dashboards
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities
  • Understanding of statistical modelling, forecasting, and machine learning techniques
  • Experience with data architecture, ETL processes, and automation tools
  • Basic understanding of FP&A processes (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, performance management), exposure to insurance metrics (e.g., ANP, VONB, claims, persistency) is a plus
  • Ability to connect financial outcomes with business drivers and operational metrics
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Good communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts
  • Proactive, curious, and eager to learn
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Candidates with less experience but strong potential may be considered for an Analyst position.
