The Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation’s (ODTR) mission is to advance the exceptional quality of life in Oklahoma by preserving, maintaining, and promoting our natural assets and cultural amenities.
ODTR is seeking a Banquet Staff to provide guest services at Quartz Mountain State Park Lodge in Lone Wolf, OK. The hourly rate for this position is $12.00.
Under the general supervision of lodge management, a banquet staff is responsible for reading and analyzing event sheets in order to gather guest information, determine proper set up, specific guest needs, layouts, action stations, etc.
Working closely with the sales director, reservationist, and housekeeping team, the banquet staff is responsible for the execution and delivery of all events, maximizing revenue, utilization of meeting space, and working to achieve or exceed the defined budgeted revenues for the banquet department.
Maintain linen inventory and organization as well as manage linens for events.
Physical labor in completing event set-up/clean-up for groups which includes tables, chairs and linens and at times heavy manual labor
Understanding and identifying the requirements for each event.
Assistance during event operations.
Troubleshooting issues that may come up at events and acting quickly and/or consulting management to resolve problems.
Interacting and keeping healthy communication and interactions with guests and vendors.
Tour, inspect, and monitor banquet rooms and presentations as well as inventory
Respond to requests during events including set-up and trash as well as linen and audio-visual needs.
Communicating client requirements in a timely and accurate manner to all internal departments as required, ensuring delivery of superior guest service.
Ensure accurate follow-up and communication both internally and to the guest/client.
Follow up with the sales director and lodge management to obtain/confirm all event-related information in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
Excellent communication skills are necessary.
Knowledgeable in banquet set-ups.
Comfortable with public/guest interactions.
Flexible to accommodate irregular, extended, or holiday hours.
