About the Role
 

This role is responsible for polishing, cleaning and electroplating fine jewelry to predetermined quality and production standards, often before delivery to the end consumer in a production cell environment. Utilizing chemical cleaners, steamers, high torque rotary equipment, brushes and grinding tools. A level of Craftmanship is required.  Merchandise categories include, but are not limited to, eCommerce sales, Customer warranty Repairs, New Assembly and Refurbish across all Signet banners. Product Control/Loss Prevention is essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manual polishing of fine jewelry (up to $100k each piece) to a blemish free mirror finish by using high torque/high power tools, polishing lathes, buffs, brushes, polishing compounds and other abrasives.

  • Apply decorative finishes and stampings to fine jewelry using electroplating equipment, acid-based plating solutions, and computer and laser generated engraving.

  • Chemical cleaning fine jewelry by using high capacity ultrasonic tanks, cleaning solutions and steaming machines.
  • Improving and advising on LEAN improvements. Track and report individual throughput and productivity and adjust, with and without supervision.

  • Participating in various Team Member committees, such as Safety and Engagement. 

  • Performs additional duties and projects as assigned.

Consistent regular scheduled attendance is considered an essential function of this job.


 

What You’ll Bring

Education & Experience:

  • Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent - required
  • Experience with Assembly or use of power tools and working with hands - required.
  • Years of Job-Related Experience Required:  +3 mo
  • Technical/Other Skills Required: Extreme hand-eye dexterity and attention to detail. Care and quality in the handling of customer owned jewelry. Ability to self-manage to developed quality standards. Must be able to work mandated overtime throughout the year. Work in a completely metal free environment, passing in/out of security throughout each work day. Work in a fast pace, production-based environment. required
