Field Technical Engineer Neuromodulation – Switzerland

home-based, ideally in region Berne or Zurich

The Opportunity

As a Field Technical Engineer within our Neuromodulation (NMD) team you will be responsible for providing expert support and advise on the use of the Abbott NMD portfolio within the assigned territory. This includes the support of the customers in solving technical issues, organization and responsibility of technical support and product trainings for customers and internal staff, as well as acquisition of new customers to build up the NMD business in Switzerland together with the Abbott National Sales Manager NMD Switzerland.

What You’ll Work On

• Provide expert technical support on the programming and implants of all NMD products; assist physicians with the implants in the operating room and provide follow-ups throughout the dedicated territory
• Maintain up to date technical knowledge of current and new therapies and technologies within the therapy area, including competitor devices, as well as a general understanding of the dynamics of the country healthcare market; discuss industry-specific flagship products and services
• Resolve common customer problems and respond to unexpected customer requests with a sense of urgency and positive action
• Provide technical support to the NMD salesforce; proactively communicate information and discuss product placement and complex case support with sales team; discuss whole range of Abbott NMD products and services with physicians/hospital staff
• Understand the business priorities of internal and external clients, awareness of sales targets and trends, marketing messaging and describe desired or actual business results in measurable scales or terms

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or science related field or equivalent
• Ideally clinical experience or in an equivalent role within industry
• Familiarity with operating room procedures and protocol and strong anatomy & physiology knowledge preferred
• Strong communicator with active listening skills and questioning techniques
• Fluency in German and English; good French language skills are a plus
• A willingness to travel 75% of the time and ability to work autonomously; adapting work schedule to procedures’ duration and coping with less regular work days
