Assistant Product Manager – Savings | Everyday Banking

Your primary objective is to contribute to and support the execution of our strategy for the Savings product portfolio, including the development of new products and the optimisation of existing offerings, with a focus on the Mass Affluent segment. This role will play a key part in delivering initiatives aligned to our ambition to grow and retain deposit balances, improve customer outcomes, and enhance our digital and product propositions.

There will be emphasis on customer-focused initiatives designed to drive account origination, strengthen retention, and increase adoption of digital tools, product features, and value propositions. You will work across a broad network of stakeholders to support both in-life portfolio management and new product delivery in a complex, regulated environment.

This role sits within the Deposit Pricing and Governance Crew, Mass Affluent Squad, which plays a critical role in managing and growing our deposit portfolios, including savings and other specialised products. This portfolio is central to the Retail Bank’s performance, supporting sustainable balance growth, pricing outcomes, and customer engagement across key segments. You will report to the Senior Manager Savings Segment Products and work closely with Product Owners, delivery squads, and enterprise stakeholders across the Group.

Product Delivery & Execution

  • Support the end-to-end delivery of product initiatives, including new product development, enhancements, and regulatory-driven changes
  • Coordinate across multiple delivery streams (e.g. product, technology, risk, operations, channels) to support timely and high-quality execution
  • Contribute to backlog refinement, prioritisation, and sizing of initiatives aligned to strategic objectives

Customer & Portfolio Growth

  • Work with your Senior Manager and Crew Product Owners to plan, coordinate and execute in-life and retention initiatives across the savings portfolio
  • Develop and execute insight- and hypothesis-led NBCs, offers, and digital initiatives to drive engagement and retention
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer journeys, particularly across digital origination, onboarding, and engagement

Insights, Performance & Commercial Acumen

  • Monitor and analyse portfolio performance, customer behaviour, and market trends using internal and external data sources
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations to drive growth, retention, and improved customer outcomes
  • Contribute to commercial assessments, including initiative sizing, benefit estimation, and trade-off analysis

Stakeholder Management & Delivery Coordination

  • Collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders across Product, Technology, Risk, Marketing, Digital, and Operations
  • Support dependency management across systems, teams, and delivery timelines
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including preparing materials for senior forums and governance

Risk, Governance & Compliance

  • Support the identification and management of risks across product initiatives, ensuring alignment with policies, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks
  • Contribute to key governance artefacts (e.g. approvals, documentation, controls) and ensure ongoing compliance in-life
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer outcomes, including adherence to DDO/TMD and broader regulatory expectations

Customer Experience & Continuous Improvement

  • Act as a contributor to customer experience design, ensuring solutions are simple, effective, and aligned to customer needs
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, simplification, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure customer service and experience remain central to all initiatives

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Experience in retail banking products, preferably deposits or savings, with exposure to both product delivery and in-life management
  • Understanding of product development lifecycle, including working within agile delivery environments and cross-functional squads
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments with interdependent delivery streams
  • Strong problem-solving capability and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous or evolving contexts
  • Experience developing and executing customer engagement initiatives (e.g. NBCs, lifecycle marketing)
  • Strong analytical capability, including experience with performance reporting, dashboards (e.g. Excel), and translating data into insights
  • Commercial acumen, with the ability to assess opportunities and support prioritisation decisions
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across a broad set of partners
  • Sound understanding of risk, governance, and compliance within a banking or regulated environment
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple initiatives with effective prioritisation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Undergraduate qualification in business, finance or a related discipline (desirable)
