The International Regional Business Director (IRBD) for LATAM is a pivotal commercial leadership role within the International Business Unit (IBU). The IRBD is responsible for driving sustainable revenue and profit growth through the effective management, development, and performance of third-party distributor partnerships.

This role entails identifying, analyzing, and developing profitable business opportunities — including optimizing sales channel strategies, appointing and onboarding new distributors, entering emerging markets, and establishing strategic partnerships — to achieve and exceed budgeted targets while expanding market share and product portfolio adoption.

Business Development Strategy & Management

  • Identify, validate and execute expansion opportunities across new and existing geographies within the assigned region.
  • Partner with the International Finance team to support the financial modelling of new channel opportunities in existing markets.
  • Research, analyze and interpret local, regional and national markets and channel structures to identify sustainable revenue and profit growth opportunities.
  • Develop and implement tailored, market-specific business plans to drive grow revenue, expand market share, and achieve strategic and financial targets.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships and commercial activities with distributor partners across the region, ensuring alignment with Acumed’s business objectives.
  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and accountability frameworks with distributor partners, regularly monitoring results and providing structured feedback.
  • Deliver accurate monthly performance reports and forecasts, highlighting key metrics, market trends, and strategic insights.

Pricing & Market Strategy

  • Collaborate with the Pricing team to research and establish optimal pricing strategies that reflect market dynamics, healthcare reimbursement rates, and competitive positioning.
  • Propose and manage promotional and incentive programs designed to increase sales revenue and profitability.

Training & Distributor Relations

  • Partner with the International Marketing Manager to coordinate and optimize medical education and sales training activities within the assigned region, ensuring solution-based selling across the Acumed portfolio.
  • Train sales channels on product ordering, registration processes, and capacity expansion.
  • Ensure successful product launches through close collaboration with marketing and distributor commercial teams.

Compliance & Resource Management

  • Work closely with the Compliance and QA/RA teams to ensure all regional activities meet regulatory and ethical standards, particularly in interactions with Health Care Professionals (HCPs).
  • Manage activities efficiently, optimizing the use of resources, budgets, and time management.
  • Support the achievement of departmental goals while ensuring adherence to assigned budgets.

Relationship Building

  • Establish, maintain, and continuously develop strong relationships with sales channels, partners, key accounts, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
  • Represent Acumed at international congresses, symposia, and other industry events to strengthen brand visibility and recognition.

Contract, Inventory & Financial Oversight

  • Manage and maintain all distribution contracts and agreements, acting as the lead negotiator in all distributor discussions.
  • Provide detailed unit and revenue forecasts to support demand planning and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and forecast targets.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory and Finance teams to assess program effectiveness and support invoice collection and cash-flow management activities.
