The Opportunity

We are seeking an attorney/senior attorney to join our legal team.  Mosaic’s legal team works in a fast-paced environment at a growing FinTech company.  You will report to the Deputy General Counsel responsible for litigation and pre-litigation disputes and will be instrumental in handling day-to-day litigation issues and developing strategies to avoid disputes and resolve pre-litigation matters, regulatory matters, and disputes.

Location: We are remote-first. This role can be based in most states in the US. 

Your day to day 

  • Interact with and correspond with external parties, including regulators
  • Manage litigation and subpoena matters, including working with internal stakeholders to identify and gather relevant documents and carry out settlement terms
  • Assist in managing outside counsel relationships, including budgeting, staffing, case management, and conflict waiver requests
  • Work with Associate General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel to provide risk assessments and form appropriate litigation strategy
  • Assist with preliminary analysis of legal correspondence and other legal documents
  • Maintain legal files and litigation summaries
  • Assist with preparation of charts, slides, and reports, as needed
  • Prepare and send various legal correspondence, including responses to attorney demand letters and commercial UCC lien notices
  • Manage escalated consumer complaint responses
  • Assist with NDAs, service level agreements, and/or other types of commercial agreements 
  • Perform other duties as requested

What you bring to the team

  • You have 4+ years of experience as a practicing litigation attorney and have a membership in good standing in at least one state bar
  • 2 or more years working in the financial services and/or tech space
  • Your written and verbal communication skills are excellent and you have the ability to make complex regulatory concepts clear to business teams, engineers, lawyers, and regulators
  • Independent yet highly collaborative individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • You are a proactive, adaptable, self-directed person who can prioritize and manage multiple projects and recalibrate in response to shifting priorities, process change, and risk tolerance
  • An ability and desire to pitch in where needed, whether or not it fits squarely in your area of expertise 
  • An ability and desire to identify opportunities for efficiency and process improvement, and to implement same

Bonus Points 

  • Experience practicing in house as a financial services regulatory lawyer, with specific experience in consumer lending, and a strong understanding of how to apply and navigate the state and federal regulations around financial services and technology
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating NDAs, service level agreements, licensing agreements, partnership agreements and/or other types of commercial agreements
  • Experience working in the Solar or Home Improvement space

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000. The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
