About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer with strong UI capability to join the Apply with Ease crew within the Home Buying domain (Retail Bank). This role supports the HOME value stream, responsible for reimagining the home loan origination ecosystem - enabling our staff to do their best work.

You will work closely with designers and product managers across the crew to reimagine the home loan application experience for our customers. You will utilise user-centred design principles and methodologies to deeply understand the needs of our staff, and shape the experience and UI for our market-leading origination platform; HOME. You’ll translate ideas and insights into elegant, scalable solutions that drive outcomes and deliver real customer and business value.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Champion customer-centricity and advocate for best-in-class user experience at every stage of the product design process.
• Design world class human centred experiences for staff-facing experiences that support customers from pre-application through to settlement
• Collaborate with other designers to define the problem space, translate design solutions into working prototypes and finished user interfaces
• Provide guidance on and actively contribute to evolving our design system, with a clear focus on staff
• Mentor and grow design peers
• Influence future direction of our experiences through creating prototypes and providing visual storytelling
• Facilitate and participate in design critiques, workshops, and agile ceremonies, providing and receiving actionable feedback to continuously improve outcomes.
• What You’ll Bring
• 5+ years of experience designing digital products in cross-functional product teams
• Strong user interface and interaction designs skills, along with the ability to help shape product vision, and design strategy 
• Technical expertise in Figma, and an eye for detail and craft.
• Growth mindset and drive to develop your own capability in user experience and research
• Strong collaboration and communication skills — you’re as comfortable sketching ideas on a whiteboard with engineers as you are presenting strategic concepts to executives.
• Experience designing for complex systems, services, or platforms, not just isolated features.
