Job Purpose

This is a unique opportunity to join GSK Switzerland at a very exciting time with multiple speciality care launches in the coming 3 years. The incumbent will lead the commercial strategy and execution for GSK Specialty & Respiratory products in Switzerland, delivering growth through effective product launches, portfolio management, and resource optimization. They will act as the primary liaison between local and above-country teams, ensuring alignment with global strategies while fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture. By adhering to GSK’s ethical standards and compliance requirements, the role will drive sustainable business outcomes, optimize patient care, and enhance market access in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders. 

Your Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies for both new and established products, ensuring alignment with global brand priorities.
  • Lead portfolio management to drive growth, optimize resource allocation, and deliver on financial and strategic objectives.
  • Advocate for improved budget and resource allocation, assessing risks and opportunities to align with organizational goals.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing, diverse sales and marketing team in line with GSK’s core values and cultural expectations.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the commercial organization.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee operational execution, ensuring delivery of performance targets and alignment with compliance standards.
  • Monitor KPIs to assess progress and address gaps, driving operational excellence and sales force productivity through consistent processes.
  • Continuously improve marketing and sales force capabilities by embedding GSK’s ways of working.

External Engagement

  • Cultivate trusted partnerships with external stakeholders, including government bodies, regulators, prescribers, and payers, to enhance patient care and access to medicines.
  • Proactively monitor the external environment, contributing to thought leadership on market trends and long-term growth opportunities.

Matrix Collaboration

  • Collaborate across organizational functions (Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical, Government Affairs) and lead matrix teams to align strategies and deliver results.
  • Partner with Medical teams to initiate data generation and develop disease guidelines.
  • Represent local interests in regional and global projects, ensuring alignment with international brand strategies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Industry Expertise: Demonstrated experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including in senior-level sales and marketing roles with proven success in driving market share growth and managing brands across various life cycle stages.
  • Therapeutic Area Knowledge: Solid experience in Specialty, and Respiratory therapeutic areas.
  • Business Leadership: Excellent experience of P&L responsibility, with expertise in brand management, product launches, and key operational areas (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Supply Chain, Market Research, Regulatory, Quality, and New Product Development).
  • Education and Skills: Bachelor’s degree, strong executive presentation skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Education: MBA preferred.
  • Financial and Strategic Acumen: Comfort with numbers and ability to present financial results and strategic plans accurately.
  • Project Leadership: Strong project management skills with experience driving major strategic initiatives and recommending changes to business strategies.
  • Global Experience: Familiarity with above-country networks and therapeutic area projects.
  • People Leadership: Expertise in talent management, succession planning, and fostering collaboration across teams.
  • Personal Attributes: High energy, a collaborative team-oriented style, and the ability to navigate complex external environments with enthusiasm and confidence.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in German is a plus.
