PhD Chemical Engineering Scientist - Fabric & Home Care PG Chemicals

 

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD Scientist / Engineer to join the Fabric and Home Care (F&HC) PG Chemicals organization, located in Cincinnati, OH. You as a Chemical Engineering Processing Scientist are in charge of optimizing our Processes of making Raw Materials that foster our Billion dollar brands. P&G's equity in Cleaning Products depend highly on our expertise to develop new to the world raw materials and or optimize existing one to deliver new/existing benefits at the right cost. You will be responsible for developing new processes, models, fundamental understanding & new insight to guide future development. Moreover, you will be working in close collaboration with multifunctional project teams and develop R&D solutions that deliver outstanding benefits in our Fabric & Home Care products (e.g. Tide, Downy, Unstopables, Dawn, Febreze, etc.) to further grow P&G's $22+ billion F&HC business.

We are looking for someone with a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering or a relevant STEM field.

  • The individual must be a phenomenal teammate and able to partner with a multi-functional team to define the model requirements
  • Be able to make business recommendations through effective communication (presentations and reports) of findings at multiple levels of customers through visual displays of quantitative information
  • The individual must be able to develop empirical insights from sophisticated data sets, generate data-driven hypothesis, and craft appropriate Lab experiments to test these hypotheses
  • The individual must be able to develop the mathematical equations which govern a given physicochemical, reaction kinetics, or transport phenomena and deploy the model in dashboard for end-users
  • The individual must be able to use mathematical optimization techniques to solve product and process design problems
  • The individual can benefit from strong coding skills in at least one scientific computing language (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, Java)
  • Proficiency in the process of fatty alcohol & surfactant making is highly recommended
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Compensation for roles at P&G varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
