Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Developer and Analyst to join its Operations team. The team is part of Tower’s Middle and Back Office (MBO) function which is a key part to Tower’s business ensuring the completeness and accuracy of Tower’s books and records and meeting the demands of a growing and complex trading business. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the Operations team to develop desk level automations to improve efficiency and accuracy of day to day tasks.
  • Working with Tower’s Post Trade engineering teams to help ensure business and technical requirements are clear and will meet the business needs.
  • Designing and developing reporting solutions and performing data analysis to monitor internal and external performance against KPIs/KRIs, leveraging advanced data analytics techniques.
  • Taking ownership of products and tools maintained by the Operations team globally.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand evolving business requirements and adapt tools and systems accordingly.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A degree in a technical field such as computer science, data science, physics, mathematics or statistics
  • At least 2 years of experience in software development or business analytics
  • Proficiency with Python in data analysis, automation, and tools development. Experience with Java is a plus but not required
  • Experience with SQL and relational database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL). Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., ELK, MongoDB) is a plus but not required
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python-based libraries like Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly
  • Familiarity with global electronic trading is a plus but not required
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
