North American Legal Department of a leading international infrastructure company seeks an attorney to join expanding team as Regional General Counsel. Ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience with wide transactional and litigation knowledge as well as substantial experience in the construction industry. Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of legal issues relating to the procurement, finance, design, and construction of large-scale public transportation projects.

Duties:

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Prepare, review, evaluate, and negotiate various types of documents, including proposals, project agreements, design-build agreements, design and other professional services agreements, subcontracts, purchase orders, lease agreements, confidentiality agreements, and other agreements.
  • Coordinate with project teams for compliance with notice requirements and legal obligations under project agreements and finance agreements.
  • Prepare corporate documents, including operational agreements, board minutes, and resolutions.
  • Support project senior management in respect of all legal matters, including client relationship, vendor matters, and employment, safety, and other compliance matters.
  • Identify and provide advice on legal and commercial risks relating to client matters, vendor matters.
  • Investigate and manage first and third party claims.
  • Retain, manage, and supervise outside counsel in respect of active formal dispute proceedings.
  • Represent company in various meetings and legal proceedings with clients, vendors, and others.
  • Develop and recommend policies and conduct training on numerous legal issues.
  • Prepare reports, memoranda, correspondence, and other documents, as necessary.
  • Coordinate with diverse departments in performance of the same.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a JD degree from a law school approved by the American Bar Association and be an active member of a bar in the US. Applicants must demonstrate analytical ability, good judgment, and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Applicants must also be highly motivated and detail oriented and have the ability to self-manage and work as part of a dynamic team involving multiple departments.
