Job Summary

The Manager, Technical Accounting plays a critical role within the accounting organization by overseeing the Company’s technical accounting function, equity programs, consolidation processes, and income tax accounting coordination. This role leads the evaluation and documentation of complex accounting areas, authors technical accounting policies and memos, and ensures accurate presentation and disclosure within the financial statements.

The position works closely with the GL, financial reporting, and FP&A teams, as well as external auditors and outsourced tax professionals. This role will also serve as the subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP for new or unusual transactions, helping management make informed decisions with clear accounting implications.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting for equity transactions, including share-based compensation, repurchases, and issuances.
• Research, analyze, and conclude on complex transactions, including leases, impairment, debt arrangements, derivatives, consolidation and other significant matters.
• Partner with outsourced tax professionals to oversee the income tax accounting process
• Prepare well-documented technical accounting memos for management, auditors, and external stakeholders.
• Monitor new accounting standards and lead implementation projects.
• Own the accounting policy function by drafting and maintaining corporate accounting policies across revenue, leasing, consolidation, tax, and other key areas.
• Perform disclosure benchmarking to ensure best-in-class financial statement presentation.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain internal controls related to equity transactions, income taxes, and other technical accounting areas
• Support the financial reporting team in preparing SEC filings, ensuring disclosures are complete and accurate.
• Support the GL and financial reporting teams in the monthly and quarterly close process for complex areas.
• Collaborate with external auditors by preparing supporting schedules and technical documentation.
• Provide accounting insight to management for strategic initiatives and transactions.
