The Manager SAP Tech Development & Support will primarily be responsible for managing support and operations for reporting and analytical technologies and products within Pfizer’s ERP BI Business Intelligence system. This involves leading a team of 10-20 contracted resources in both systems/operations management and support functions, to ensure the delivery of first-class customer service to our users.

In this role, we are looking for a skilled colleague with technical knowledge and experience with SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW) / Business Objects (BOBJ) and SAP HANA technologies, to facilitate daily support and operations. Pfizer is undergoing a significant transformation in the areas of enterprise data warehousing, data analytics and reporting technologies for SAP; the Manager will support this complex transition toward innovative solutions and processes for the SAP Analytics Enablement organization.

While managing the daily operations of Pfizer’s SAP BW system, the Manager will also lead the team’s efforts in supporting applications and interfaces with external systems, developing automations, and delivering continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, the Manager will partner with application engineers to deploy new and updated business intelligence solutions.

What You Will Achieve

In this role, you will:

• Orchestrate support and operations management, customer service for Pfizer’s SAP BW / BOBJ systems, providing hands on assistance when required
• Define and set objectives for the offshore vendor support team’s operations, prioritizing support resources and recommendations for tactical issue resolution
• Define the planning and project design on the testing and support for system upgrades and migrations to new technologies
• Provide technical and application knowledge leadership to the members of the offshore vendor support and operations team, leveraging technical and functional expertise across multiple disciplines
• Partner with application developer teams and share knowledge of Pfizer’s technologies and processes; both to define and implement support requirements and to manage the transition of products and solutions to long-term operations support.
• Address opportunities to automate repetitive process tasks including cross system reconciliation and testing, using innovative approaches and cross discipline technologies; decide on the priority based on business criticality and high value and impact
• Take well-managed risks while ensuring the highest level of quality and compliance related to service delivery objectives: incident management, service request fulfillment and change management
• Ensure data integrity and quality by addressing internal and external auditing requirements throughout the year and during periodic audit cycles

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in technical discipline (computer science, engineering, etc.)
• 4+ years (2+ years with MBA/MS) of experience in information technology, analytics, or related field
• Hands-on knowledge of SAP BW including data modeling, transformations, process scheduling and customization, interfaces, and technology roadmap
• Experience with SAP reporting tools: Business Objects – Web Intelligence, Analysis for OLAP and Analysis for Office; SAP Business Explorer query designer, SAP Analytics Cloud
• Knowledge and experience with SAP HANA, modelling and SQL skills
• Process-oriented with strong organization, project management experience and coordination skills
• Experience in working with or managing large teams of vendors and contracted resources, in remote/virtual capacity
• Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate and collaborate broadly across functions & the global organization

Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)

• Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
• Experience with managing budgets
• Experience with Data Wrangling tools such as Dataiku & Alteryx are nice to have but not required
• Knowledge of SAP BDC including Datasphere and Databricks are nice to have but not required
