The Job - Summary of Function:
The Production supervisor reports to the Operations Manager for the organisation of people, equipment, and processes across Electronics Production, Aftermarket and Logistics (shipping, receiving and stores) areas to ensure business and customer commitments are met.
This is a leadership position within Moog with 80+ reporting staff, approximately 6 reporting directly, including a team of supervisors. This is an on-site role in Ringaskiddy.

Continually refine and optimise processes
To accomplish these objectives, the role works closely with roles across internal departments from Customer Service, Supply Chain, Program Management, Manufacturing, Design and Test Engineering, Quality, Finance, HR and Value Stream Management. Externally the role works with customers and their representatives as required.
Responsibilities in detail:
1.
Plan resources to meet targets

Confirm resource availability and capability to meet received Purchase Orders.

Management of the production, stores and aftermarket areas including team leaders, test technicians and assembly operators ensuring assigned work is completed on time and to the required quality standards.

Allocate these resources to meet production targets.
o
Co-ordinate with production planning and customer service staff to achieve plans against Sales Orders
o
Ensure employee safety and the following of safety procedures at all times
o
Review and assess employee performance

Set and monitor employee objectives
o
Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures

Assist with employee motivation and communications.

Work with HR on recruitment and staffing for production, stores and Aftermarket areas.
o
Coordinate the training and development of employees with the Learning and Development team to maximise employee flexibility through cross training and to ensure employee growth within Moog.
2.
Monitor plan versus actual

Develop, implement, and monitor performance indicators to run the business.
o
Meet weekly/monthly production and shipping targets for Production and Aftermarket
o
Where targets are not met, ensure the appropriate corrective and preventative actions are taken as necessary to meet the agreed targets for the production areas.
o
Ensure team focus on product quality, workmanship and prevailing priority work assignments.
o
Feedback yield data to drive design and supplier corrective action.
o
Accountable for area KPI’s in line with the business needs and constraints:

On Time Delivery

Absenteeism

Aftermarket Turn Around Time

Inventory Cycle Count Accuracy

Cost of Poor Quality

Over Time costs

Monitor inventory levels to ensure accuracy and availability of purchased parts and made assemblies from stock.

Monitor and control Customer owned inventory and inventory for Aftermarket use.

Ensure compliance of the site Known Consignor accreditation

Ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods Transportation requirements
3.
Continually refine and optimise processes

Optimisation of the production process.
o
Monitor production processes to identify opportunities through applying Lean and Continuous Improvement techniques and tools. (5S etc) and though working in tandem with the Value Stream.
o
Initiate, lead and support workplace change and innovation to meet growing business needs.

Ensure good control practices, including material handling & storage; transaction/data integrity.

Ensure accurate inventory records on the ERP system.

Generate system reports to check for discrepancies.

Ensure maintenance of customer owned inventory

Key candidate requirements and qualifications:
o
At least 10 years leading and managing people in a regulated manufacturing environment.
o
An Engineering qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related discipline is an advantage
o
A business qualification in Supply Chain/Logistics is an advantage
o
SAP experience is an advantage
o
Lean experience is an advantage
o
A Project Management qualification is an advantage
o
Experience in Known Consignor compliance is an advantage
o
Excellent interpersonal skills
o
Excellent written and oral communication
o
Excellent organisation and problem solving skills
o
Ability to communicate appropriately across the range of roles from senior management to line operators
