Job Title: Sr. Manager, Engineering EMEA/APAC

Department: ISC Global Engineering

Reports to: Ass. Director, EMEA/APAC Engineering Lead

Location: Croatia

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, EMEA/APAC Engineering will support engineering activities across manufacturing sites within Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.

This role focuses on providing technical leadership, driving process improvements, and supporting the implementation of automation and digitalization initiatives.

The position will work closely with site engineering teams and regional operations to ensure engineering projects are executed effectively and aligned with corporate standards and regulatory requirements. The Senior Manager will play a key role in optimizing processes, supporting capital project execution, and deploying continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regional Engineering Support & Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for regional sites on day-to-day engineering matters.

  • Support the implementation of standardized engineering practices across sites to align with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in tracking and reporting engineering performance metrics for the region.

2. Manufacturing Process Improvement & Operational Support

  • Partner with site engineering teams to identify and implement technical solutions that improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

  • Provide troubleshooting support for process-related issues, both on-site and remotely.

  • Promote the adoption of Lean and Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement.

3. Automation & Digitalization Implementation

  • Support the deployment of automation and digital solutions, including Industry 4.0 initiatives, at site level.

  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and site teams to implement smart manufacturing systems and digital tools.

  • Track progress of digitalization projects and provide feedback to regional leadership.

4. Capital Project Support

  • Support the preparation and execution of capital investment projects, ensuring technical requirements and timelines are met.

  • Assist in the development of business cases by providing technical inputs and cost estimates.

  • Monitor project progress and report on key milestones and deliverables.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations, quality, and supply chain to support integrated solutions for site-level challenges.

  • Facilitate sharing of best practices and technical learnings across regional teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or related field).

  • 8–10 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing operations, or process improvement within the pharmaceutical, medical device, or other highly regulated industry.

  • Solid understanding of automation and digitalization in manufacturing environments.

  • Experience supporting multi-site engineering teams in a matrix organization.

  • Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse cultures and functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt.

  • Experience with digital transformation, smart manufacturing, and AI-driven operational improvements.

  • Experience in multi-site governance and strategic engineering leadership at a regional or global level and/or OPEX Experience.

  • Experience with digital transformation projects or Industry 4.0 tools.

  • Exposure to capital project planning and execution in a multi-site environment.

  • Operational excellence or OPEX experience is a plus.
