Special Events Account Manager

Travel Partnerships and Media helps partners, including hotels, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply, our leading advertising and travel media network and affiliate solutions.

In this role, you will:

Advocate and Build Relationships

  • Cultivate trust with high-value property managers and software providers by understanding their challenges and opportunities, and advocating with internal teams to shape Vrbo’s products, policies, and programs for success in the marketplace.
  • Build and nurture strong internal relationships, sharing industry insights and leveraging your partner network to influence decisions and drive outcomes that benefit both Vrbo and partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams, ensuring effective partner engagement by gathering feedback, supporting marketing campaigns, and facilitating collaboration for alignment on business objectives.

Strategize and Communicate

  • Create and refine a playbook for in-market visits, outlining strategies to maximize ROI, support partner success, and gather actionable insights that improve the traveler and partner experience in our two-sided marketplace.
  • Innovate and optimize partner events by incorporating feedback from partners and internal stakeholders, aligning event strategies to drive greater ROI and adapt to the evolving business and marketplace needs.
  • Develop a two-year strategy for Vrbo's in-market presence, focusing on optimizing organizational structure and evolving the partner success business to ensure maximum effectiveness in engaging partners and driving results in the marketplace.

Plan and Execute Partner Events

  • Occasionally join leaders in representing Vrbo at industry events as a credible thought leader and expert, serving as a speaker and advocate for the brand when needed, building trust with partners, and fostering connections that support business growth.
  • Help develop impactful communications, such as keynote presentations and event messaging, to clearly articulate Vrbo’s strategic initiatives and make them actionable for partners to drive growth in our marketplace.
  • Oversee end-to-end event execution, serving as the primary on-site liaison to manage vendors, troubleshoot logistics, ensure seamless attendee experiences, and support internal stakeholders to achieve event goals.

Analyze and Drive Improvements

  • Track and analyze event performance, partner feedback, and business outcomes to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, set clear goals for high ROI, and provide strategic recommendations for achieving those objectives.
  • Analyze data, budgets, and outcomes for in-market events, overseeing annual and event-specific planning, and providing quarterly reports with insights on ROI, key learnings, and actionable recommendations to optimize future event strategies and budgets.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Experienced: You have 10+ years in B2B customer facing account management roles, and 5+ years in the events and experience space, managing budgets up to $500k.
  • Strategic Thinker: You excel at connecting the dots between partner needs, business objectives, and evolving market trends to drive impactful decisions and outcomes.
  • Connector and Advocate: You build trust, foster collaboration, and influence internal and external stakeholders, leveraging your credibility to advocate for partners and ensure their needs are represented in business decisions.
  • Data-Informed Problem Solver: You leverage data and industry insights to analyze trends and provide actionable recommendations, continuously improving performance and ROI.
  • Event Innovator: You combine creativity with strategic vision to design and execute events that align with business goals, enhancing partner success and driving market impact. You’re comfortable traveling for events and thrive in dynamic environments.
  • Skilled Communicator: You tailor messaging for diverse audiences, articulating strategic initiatives clearly to drive action. Whether presenting to executives, partners, or internal teams, you engage and influence confidently.

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $110,500.00 to $155,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $177,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
