Northrop Grumman is seeking Engineering Interns to join the Aeronautics Systems Sector's Intern Program. This position will be located in Emerado, ND at our Grand Sky Facility.

The qualified candidates will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Systems Engineering organization.

The selected candidates will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where they will interact with users, customers and other developers.    

 

As an intern, you’ll participate in an internship program for the semester that is designed to develop competencies in a variety of engineering specializations that may include:

  • Digital Twin development.

  • Mathematically rigorous, physics-based Modeling and Simulation (M&S).

  • Developing, modifying, and testing python code.

  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.

  • Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.

  • Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.

  • Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.

  • Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.

 

 

Basic Qualifications

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be enrolled full-time in an accredited University pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree 

  • Be majoring in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree

  • Have a strong background in Mathematics and Physics

  • Previous experience with Digital Twins and/or M&S

  • Programming experience

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

  • Be available to work part-time (up to 28 hours per week)

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher

  • Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

  • Be enrolled full-time in an accredited University pursuing a graduate degree

Intern Pay Range 

  • Undergraduate degrees: $17.25 to $31.50 per hour

  • Graduate degrees: $25.00 to $39.50 per hour

Salary Range: $1.00 - $1.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
