Tell me about my job. 

Our consultants are expected to rise to the occasion to not only make sense of the opportunities, but also deliver solutions that make our clients stand out in the market. Within our Advisory practice, our consultants range from well-known industry experts to technical problem-solvers. As an Associate Consultant on this team, you will gain exposure into strategy and operations groups of our clients, acting as an early warning system to inefficiencies and operational breakdowns. If you are considering this role, you are highly analytical, great with people and tend to be the Wikipedia of your circle. 

Skills Required:

  • Desire for a role within the Energy industry, specifically in an analytical or consulting capacity
  • Ability to create and analyze basic risk reports including exposure and P&L reporting
  • Understanding of micro and macro market conditions and an understanding of market trends 
  • Ability to work with a collaborative team, being able to provide input while accepting others ideas with an open mind, with the goal of building quality enterprise solutions for our clients
  • Passion for using technical solutions to solve complex business problems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum or related is preferred) or related Business field
  • MBA or desire to pursue an MBA post-graduation is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the growth of energy trading organizations by analyzing business strategies such as purchasing & delivery decisions to meet company objectives
  • Create and or improve the processes of middle office / risk departments 
  • Identify capability and competency gaps within supply and transportation organizations  
  • Analyze current state policies & procedures and advise on target operating model   
  • Ensure technologies fit business need by facilitating RFPs including software demos, evaluations & selections 
  • Clearly identify and analyze software capabilities, defining end-to-end business scenarios to ensure technologies are leveraged most effectively
  • Generate critical reports on gains/losses, consumption, and other ad hoc analysis as necessary
  • Optimize technologies & align them with key business goals
