HOW YOU WILL DO IT

As a Director of Engineering, you will work closely with the Senior Site Director and other directors on quality, P&L, budgeting, staffing, training, and additional activities.  You will work in cooperation with other Design Center leaders to effectively and appropriately utilize all resources throughout Plexus Engineering. 
 

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Ensure quality is built into our products by owning the quality system, design processes, and ensuring technical success.

  • Facilitate cross-design center work sharing to ensure company goals and customer needs are met.

  • Define and drive the engineering vision for the company including defining and balancing the need for technology advancement, resource planning, capital budgets, and succession planning in order to support our customers and exceed our enduring goals.

  • Ensure the technical success of projects and effectively manages variable and fixed costs (e.g. training, contractors, etc.) to maximize profitability.

  • Provide business development support including Plexus capability presentations, business and technical discussions, the customer experience tour, and defining/executing strategies on how to win business.

  • Focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Computer Science or related field is required; a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Computer Science or related field is preferred.

  • Ten (10) years of related experience is required.

  • A minimum of Three (3) years of product development, with a preference for project management experiences, is required for this position, assuming educational requirements are met.

  • Understanding of product development methodologies for a wide range of engineering disciplines.

  • Possess strong knowledge in all appropriate technical disciplines as well as a good knowledge of test development and manufacturing.

  • Possess strong team building skills.

  • Possess good management skills and knowledge of management principles.

  • Possess good organizational, presentation and leadership skills.
