Job Summary

Operators are responsible for the sterilisation of all scheduled validated products in line with procedures, the movement of all QA-released non-sterile products from the packaging areas to the staging areas of the sterilisation suites, the preparation and routine sterilisation of each lot.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Participate as an active member of the Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality teams.
  • Communicate quality issues and developments at relevant meetings.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Ethylene Oxide Sterilisation Suite.
  • Assist in sterilisation validation activities.
  • Preparation and retrieval of Process Challenge Devices as part of the sterilisation process whilst complying the relevant safety and operating procedures.
  • Monitor the sterilisation process including clear alarms on the steriliser and ensure that product is processed effectively.
  • Escalate all processing issues / alarm conditions to site facilities teams and/or supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Complete all interventions to resolve alarm conditions, where possible and safe to do so.
  • Completed all inbound and outbound shipments of sterilisation gas.
  • Complete EO drum changes.
  • Pull post sterile samples for QA as required.
  • Assist in all sterilisation validation activities.
  • Ensure that all safety practices are followed in the area. Wear and/or use all required personal protective equipment while working.
  • Identify continuous improvements opportunities where possible and take part in improvement projects as assigned.
  • Carry out additional duties that may be assigned to you.

Qualifications & experience

Be educated to Leaving Certificate level (or equivalent) and be computer literate with experience in word processing and spreadsheets.  A full clean driving license is essential.  Ideally candidates will have BPCS experience, hold a current forklift license or have previous forklift experience.

  • An ability to work to deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and possess the ability to react quickly to out of specification conditions.
  • Safety consciousness is of particular importance due to the nature of the role.
  • Comfortable working mainly by yourself.
  • Flexibility and willingness to cover other shifts as required.
  • Quality Awareness and a proven track record of excellent quality standards.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • An excellent standard of attendance and time keeping.
