Job Summary

Are you the type of person who enjoys leading a team of manufacturing engineers to support the production of high-quality Vermeer products? In this role you will collaborate with teams in Product Engineering, Sales, Service, Procurement, Human Resources, and Finance. Whether influencing safety, capital, capacity, productivity or quality, we’re looking for a cross functional leader who can execute engineering projects throughout the manufacturing process.

What You’ll Do 

1. Supervise, organize, mentor and coach assigned team members in performance of their duties while influencing others to carry the Vermeer culture forward. Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization’s strategies and objectives to drive key business results. Use expertise to ensure department is serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations. 

2. Ensure all project needs are being met to achieve goals in the original set time frame.  This includes, but is not limited to, securing additional resources, setting daily or weekly priorities for project team members. 

3. Ensure that project goals, such as test plans, production preparation plans, and product performance plans, financial plans, and capital plans are met. If goals are not met, make appropriate adjustments for implementation. 

4. Ability to create financial business cases for making investment-related manufacturing decisions. Ability to understand Vermeer’s financial goals and deliver results that support those goals.

What We’re Looking For 

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with five years of experience in a manufacturing or equivalent business leadership role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to understand capacity and capital acquisition. 

- Knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, and the strategic planning processes; ability to operate within targeted budget. 

- Ability to develop reliable, high-performing manufacturing processes that provide competitive, financially successful solutions.

- Ability to develop talent and supervise staff in the performance of duties such that performance meets or exceeds expectations. 

- Deep understanding of Just-In-Time (JIT) principles. 

- Ability to maintain plant efficiency during the building process. 

- Ability to coordinate with product development team activities to release successful products to the manufacturing environment. 

- Ability to contribute ideas for machine improvements. 

- Ability to understand and operate normal mechanics, tools, drills and torches.

Travel 

- Occasional travel is expected of this position. 

Work Location

ONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
