Veterinary Assistant

Windy Hill Veterinary Hospital is actively looking for a veterinary assistant to join our amazing team. The ideal candidate should be confident in proper animal handling and restraint, able to collect samples, run rooms, clean cages, walk dogs, understand the importance of a clean and organized animal clinic, work well with the technicians and veterinarian, communicate with our clients, have knowledge of some industry tools and equipment used on a daily basis, have the motivation to want to learn new skills and advance in the veterinary industry, and be a positive and supportive team player. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and growing and Windy Hill Veterinary Hospital encourages its staff to do the same. Qualifications 

• Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant. 

• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures. 

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 

• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements. 

• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities 

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures. 

• Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines. 

• Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records. 

• Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
