Trade Compliance Data Specialist (12 month contract)

Trade Compliance is GSK’s response to ensure compliance with all customs and trade regulations globally and minimize risk associated with non-compliance e.g. fines, penalties, disruption to supply chain, reputational damage and potential imprisonment.

GSK is legally obliged to comply with all frequently changing trade compliance rules and regulations globally to ensure continued supply of all products around the world.

Data team is part of a Global Trade Compliance Service and is responsible for tariff codes, country of origin, export controls and license and permits determination.

Trade Compliance Data Specialist will provide a timely and effective service globally across all business units to ensure compliant data is provided at each border crossing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the effective movement of products to and from ALL countries GSK operate in and ALL business units through the delivery of Trade compliance data according to SLA’s agreed with customers 

  • Determine all GSK trade compliance data including HTS classification, Country of Origin and ECCN/ECN

  • Maintenance of a central trade compliance database with compliant data, ensuring alignment to ERP system 

  • Report service issues and risks and deal within a timely manner.  Escalate issues with proposed mitigations to service lead 

  • Perform impact analysis of changes to global/local regulations on GSK data 

  • Identification and management of export-controlled products and ensuring those controls are communicated to the respective areas of the business to manage the potential risk for GSK 

Requirements:

  • Science, chemistry or trade compliance related degree

  • Strong trade compliance knowledge 

  • Experience in HTS classification, country of origin and export control (experience in pharmaceutical or chemical industry would be a plus)

  • Demonstrated attention to detail 

  • Strong customer focus 

  • Good communication skills 

  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to extensively analyse and process data 

  • Good Excel skills

  • Ability to work within a team
