We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Lead to join our team. This position supports the Single-family Quality Control department and focuses on business processes and technology change. The Business Lead plays a critical role in understanding business needs, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and supporting the implementation of technology solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of Quality Control operations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business success.
Our team identifies business unit requirements, creates technical and process specifications, and coordinates with product owner teams to ensure that plans are on schedule and within scope. The Business Lead will work on diverse and complex issues, where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business processes and emerging risks. The responsibilities are time sensitive and will have a high-level of visibility within the Quality Control department.
We provide strong management support, knowledge and advice to the Quality Control department and Product Owner teams delivering well-timed information and guidance to effectively remediate issues and manage risk.
As an integral part of our team, your primary categories of work include:
Operational Risk Management:
Monitor business processes and systems to ensure highest efficiencies and quality based on the tools available
Support on-going change process for maintaining QC systems optimally and maximize the benefits of the funding and resources
Scrutinize and escalate risks identified with thorough supporting research and documentation
Develop new processes with a strategic mindset of future reusability and flexibility
Project Management:
Work across departments and divisions to bring ideas and issues together for wholistic solutions
Act as a primary interface between technology infrastructure and the QC business/functional area
Develop tactical solution options for supporting strategic plans turning leadership’s ideas into functional and practical processes
Communicate business needs in an easy-to-digest manner to Product Owner teams to provoke dialog around flexible and functional solutions
Manage change quality by monitoring and reviewing user stories and facilitating user acceptance testing
Support security resource ownership with on-going, individual access requests and reoccurring user entitlement audits
Create and support information transparency using available tools
Engage Business Area, Product Owners
Work with Quality Control departments to identify, develop and implement operational efficiency
Build relationships across the departments and divisions
Negotiate and influence situations and people
Engage with Product Owner teams to find common understanding on business problems and solutions
Present analysis of issues, solution options and progress updates
2+ years of professional experience
Demonstrate knowledge of mortgage banking underwriting process from start to finish including processing, underwriting and closing/funding functions
Demonstrate knowledge of secondary mortgage market remedy/repurchase process
Demonstrate knowledge of simple SQL queries to diagnose system issues and trends
Thorough understanding of mortgage banking industry data such as Loan-to-Value, Debt-to-Income Ratio, Liabilities, Income, Assets
Demonstrate knowledge of Agile project methodology
Knowledge of Freddie Mac’s unique QMOD & QCA systems a plus
Demonstrate history of providing support to others who do not have the same knowledge/expertise by translating information into easy-to-digest dialog
Demonstrate ability to influence the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to relationships
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint
Critical thinker, resourceful, strong work ethic, and ability to juggle multiple tasks and due dates
Energetic self-starter/relationship builder

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.
