What will you do?

  • Contribute business insight, design skills, and best practices to a team where engineering collaborates closely with strategy, product, design, and quality engineering.
  • Be involved in the entire software development process, from requirement gathering and design reviews through the implementation of new product features.
  • Promote a fast paced environment through continuous improvement, agile, and kanban development methodologies
  • Regularly contribute to our codebase and actively participate in reviews for the team’s technical designs and code.
  • Help engineers develop new skills and advance their career through coaching
  • Engage in performance conversations and help align business objectives and career goals
  • Coach, mentor, and inspire teams of engineers that are responsible for delivering high performing, secure enterprise applications
  • Impact a developing tech stack based on modern front-end frameworks and cost-efficient utilization of AWS back-end services
  • Think creatively, own problems, seek solutions, and communicate clearly along the way
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment deeply rooted in learning, teaching, and transparency
  • Build a diverse team while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment
  • Ensure close relationships in a multi-location organization, connecting our product and engineering teams.
  • Promote a culture of feedback that encourages your team and peers to be candid with each other and you.
  • Build systems and processes that allow our customers to balance their books down to fractions of a penny

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years in a hands-on software engineering management position or similar function, with a history of architecting and designing new products and technologies in the cloud.
  • Experience working in the Accounting, Finance, or Fintech industries.
  • Experience with general Artificial Intelligence  and Machine Learning
  • Knowledge of matching and clustering algorithms
  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced  environment with the desire to forge a path when requirements may be dynamic and evolving
  • Clear and crisp communicator, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline
  • Ability to lead and influence both with and without authority
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and architectural patterns
  • Ability to focus on short-term deliverables while maintaining a big-picture perspective
  • An aptitude for problem-solving
  • Serious interest in having fun at work

Bonus:

  • Passionate about finance and accounting
  • Experience working on investment management applications
  • Experience with batch & stream processing
  • Prior experience building customized AI and ML solutions
  • Experience designing and launching enterprise applications with agile development methodologies
  • Experience working on and leading product engineering teams, and having a customer first mindset
  • Understanding of building back-end infrastructure using technologies such as Docker and AWS
