Product Architect/Lead Engineer

Salary: London ranging from - £73,700 to £119,800 and National - £67,100 to £109,000

The team/department

The Data & Analytics Product Group (DAPG) sits within the Regulatory Systems Department of the Data, Technology & Innovation (DTI) Division. The DAPG supports the delivery of the FCA’s Digital and Data Strategies, optimising FCA’s performance as a digitally led regulator. The Analyse & Insight (A&I) product team (within DAPG) specifically supports FCA’s Data Science and Advanced Analytics functions and the FCA’s Data Science strategy.

The Product Architect & Lead Engineer role sits within A&I team and is responsible for the overall architectural design and implementation of digital solutions, including service, for the A&I products. The role will ensure quality assurance of architectural decisions, technical designs and other architectural deliverables and artefacts to ensure alignment to enterprise platform and integration strategies, standards and patterns. We are looking for an experienced senior level product architect, with hands-on experience in problem solving and software delivery. Client facing, strong communication and presentation skills, ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a challenging environment.

What you will be doing (the role)

Provide steer, guidance, and decision in architectural designs Prepare design papers and present at relevant design authorities Undertake lead engineering build tasks in the development of technology solutions Liaise with dependent stakeholder Product Groups Technology stakeholder and relationship management Act as Technical lead for other engineers in the team

The skills and experience you will have 

Minimum

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, and AI/Data Science related components e.g. AWS Sagemaker, AWS Cognitive Services

  • Exposure to Cloud Technologies

  • Experience of Microservices architecture design and implementation

Essential

  • Experience with Jenkins, Git, Chef & Linux

  • Hands on development background and ready to delivery as required

  • Security Cleared or eligible for Security Clearance

  • Strong stakeholder management

  • Designing resilient and scalable systems

  • Automated development using declarative CI/CD pipelines

  • Secure by design architecture

  • Approach and implementation in Data Science and AI industry trends
