Technical Product Manager III (Data Products)

Our Expedia Product & Technology division builds innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A unified, singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences for the traveler and our partners that drive loyalty and customer satisfaction.  

The Technical Product Manager III role sits within the Data and AI team in the Product & Technology division of Expedia Group. One of the focuses within this team is creating, maintaining, and growing the enterprise data stores that provide context and meaning to the data that is used to run the business. In this role, your expertise and passion for data, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation will help improve the experience of millions of travelers and partners worldwide.  

   

In this role, you will:   

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to drive product strategy and influence decisions across various business groups 

  • Translate business goals into technical data product requirements, including discovering dependencies and defining data contracts 

  • Act as an internal consultant, providing support across the organization through being a product Subject Matter Expert, and crafting comprehensive documentation 

  • Organize the strategic vision into key themes that solve for both short-term and long–term business & customer requirements 

  • Create a strategic, KPI-driven, plan to achieve key themes and milestones, making tradeoff decisions with engineering teams when necessary  

  • Apply your understanding of data engineering principles to enable engineering teams with actionable technical requirements  

 

Experience and qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's or Master's equivalent experience with 5+ years for Bachelor's and 3+ years’ experience with Master's 

  • Experience working in a technology company managing data products  

  • Proficient in SQL: able to create detailed technical requirements defining how data from different systems will work together and assist technical data consumers with their own questions or queries 

  • Proven understanding of data engineering fundamentals  

  • Experience and deep understanding of agile SDLC methodology  

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.  Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
