The Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, within the School of Health and Clinical Professions in the College of Health Sciences, is seeking highly qualified applicants for the Program Specialist I position. This pivotal role will drive excellence in our new and growing Occupational Therapy program, supporting both faculty and students while fostering innovation and program growth
Program Specialist I, under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of the physical therapy program. This position will provide program support; assist in the admissions and enrollment processes; maintain departmental communications; manage records and ensure compliance; and provide office support.
This full-time, in-office position is located on Tarleton’s main campus in Stephenville, Texas. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate which may entail some evenings and weekends pending scheduled activities. Requires the ability to work remotely at the University’s discretion.
Responsibilities:
35% Program Support
Assists in managing the academic calendar for the program including scheduling classes, exams, meetings, and other events related to the OTD program.
Plans and develops specialized programs such as open houses, orientation, conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, workshops, and tours.
Plans, implements, coordinates, analyzes, monitors, and evaluates administrative support functions.
Assists in the development and maintenance of budget, special reports, and other documents.
Provides administrative support to the Program Director and faculty.
Assists with admissions and matriculation processes. Maintains program supplies and equipment.
30% Program Communications
Develops and maintains the program's web page.
Maintains program's brochures with current information.
Coordinates specialized program communications and marketing.
Attends program meetings and records, distributes, and maintains minutes.
Facilitates incoming inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders providing timely and accurate responses or directing inquiries to the appropriate person.
30% Records and Compliance Management
Maintains and updates student records.
Assists in the development and documentation of departmental policies and procedures.
Analyzes data and assists in the preparation and maintenance of special reports and other required documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
5% Other Responsibilities
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
No prior is experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
Salary
The target base annual salary is commensurate with experience with a target base salary range of $41,000 - $45,100 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
