About the Role & Team
Disney Television Animation is looking for Storyboard Artists to join our Multiplatform team!


What You Will Do

  • Create storyboards: from thumbnail/rough storyboard panels through delivery of finished storyboard sequences
  • Ensure that the vision and style of the show is consistently adhered to through execution of action, staging, dialogue, and camera
  • Pitch storyboards and address notes from the Director and Creative Supervisors
  • Collaborate with creative department heads and production to review goals and vision for the storyboards and discuss concerns, timelines and complexity, given the parameters of the schedule; Responsible for completing all deliverables on time and according to production schedule and within guidelines/show parameters such as number of scenes, complexity requirements, etc
  • E​nsure that storyboards include all final dialogue, backgrounds, direction, camera moves and action by making drawing or text changes in description, dialogue, or numbering​
  • Submit work that appropriately aligns with production and workflow guidelines requirements (i.e., naming conventions and storage)
  • Additional duties as necessary, or as defined by individual contracts

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years storyboard experience and/or training on a similar show
  • Knowledge of software and hardware including Cintiq, Toon Boon Storyboard Pro, and Photoshop
  • Ability to align with the style and sensibility of show, including the ability to draw characters and environments on model within a particular show style
  • A portfolio that demonstrates staging, composition and cinematography skills, along with strong comedy, action, emotional storytelling, and character interactions
  • Ability to write clear and specific direction on storyboards
  • Consistent time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior knowledge and experience working in television animation production pipelines

Education
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.

The pay rate for this role in California is $61.12 to $71.32 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
