The Sr. Enterprise Applications Engineer at Cboe will be an integral part of the Enterprise Corporate Services team, providing world class service to our internal clients, effectively leading and managing projects, executing ongoing programs, guiding other engineers, and teaching Cboe associates new ways of working with the applications we govern. You will be working in a small team of technologists that provide support to the Atlassian collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket as well as other applications provided to the corporation. You will help design and support the entire application stack from its deployment to a Linux OS or Cloud product down to the configuration of individual settings within the tools. You will be responsible for providing guidance to business partners as they work to adopt best practices, automate solutions and provide processes, statistics, and documentation for their own work tasks. You will have the opportunity to explore and utilize a myriad of technology products and programming tools to support our environment consisting of off-the-shelf products and custom-built applications. You will be expected to stay current with the direction of the technology and to share your learnings with the small team and the wider Cboe staff. 

In this role you’ll be responsible for

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 
  • Jfrog's Artifactory Cloud/Edge 
  • Jira Software and Jira Service Management Data Center/Cloud 
  • Confluence Cloud 
  • Bitbucket Data Center/GitHub Cloud, Opsgenie, Haproxy 
  • Virtual RHEL Linux systems and managing RHEL unit file services 
  • Backups and Monitoring of internal and external applications 

The ideal candidate has

  • At least 5 years of experience with Atlassian product Administration 
  • Compassion for customer needs, solving problems, and translating business requests into requirements and actions 
  • An ability to self-govern daily work assignments, align them with fluctuations in company direction, delegate tasks, identify coaching opportunities, and to lead other engineers in improving their own skillsets 
  • A desire to stay on the leading edge of Technology and guide Cboe to prudent decisions in application decisions 
  • A proven track record of successful application system architectural designs and an ability to validate and explain reasons behind design decisions 
  • A strong commitment to understand complex regulatory and compliance rules and an ability to apply this knowledge to confirm adherence within application configurations 

Mastery of a wide variety of Application configurations including 

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM 
  • Power Apps and Power Automate 
  • Jfrog’s Artifactory 
  • Device42 

Significant Experience with programming languages and syntax like 

  • Python, PowerShell, and Groovy 
  • JSON and XML 

Working knowledge and familiarity with development tools and products  

  • Atlassian APIs and general API practices, Git, Docker, PostgreSQL 
  • SharePoint, Active Directory/LDAP, Vi, SSH, OpenSSL 
  • Public/Private cryptography 

You’ll really stand out with

Atlassian Certifications and working knowledge of Atlassian Tool design 

  • Cloud Enterprise Organization administration 
  • Atlassian Product application configurations 
  • Jira workflow development 
  • Creating and managing integrations between Atlassian products and other vendor solutions 
  • A portfolio of developed solutions and integrations using API code 
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with additional tools 
  • PostgreSQL clustering, Haproxy clustering, SALT, Elasticsearch, NFS 
  • Experience working in a highly regulated business
