Lafayette Animal Hospital is actively looking for an entry-level Technician Assistant. We are seeking an organized, compassionate, and service-oriented individual who is willing to learn and grow. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and growing and Lafayette Animal Hospital encourages its staff to do the same. Pay Range: $16 - $18 (based on experience)

Hours: 30 - 40 hours per week

Job Details:

• Animal care:

  Assisting with restraint and handling during procedures, assisting with medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and preparing samples for laboratory examination.
• Cleaning and maintenance:

  Cleaning and disinfecting cages, kennels, and exam rooms; sterilizing instruments and equipment; and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Requirements:

• 1+ years in the veterinary industry (preferred)
• Tuesday - Saturday schedule (required)
• Believes in the importance of client education
• Compassionate toward our patients and clients
• Motivated to learn new skills
• Positive and supportive team player
• Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 40 pounds with assistance. 
• Ability to stay on task and work energetically for an entire shift.

About the Hospital:

Lafayette Animal Hospital is a fast-paced hybrid clinic that offers general practice services along with urgent care and emergency care for our patients. We are open from 8-6 Monday through Friday and 8-2 Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays.
