What you'll do...

Position: Director, Data Science

Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Build models and perform various analyses to evaluate future network needs including fulfillment center locations and capacities such as cube, SKU, and throughput. Extract and transform data from various databases using SQL and prepare for modeling using tools such as Python, R, and Excel while visualizing model results using Tableau. Build strategic network design models using off-the shelf software or custom code development. Engage with cross-disciplinary teams including Fulfillment Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain Operations to collect various business inputs and develop a robust future network of facilities that satisfies various customer and business needs. Interact with other Data Science teams to develop complex flow optimization models and utilize tools such as CPLEX/Gurobi and Operations Research/Data Science techniques to guide model development processes. Publish and communicate model results to business stakeholders and leadership to obtain alignment on future network plans using business analytics and intelligence skills. Guide/mentor junior associates on data extraction, model development, and stakeholder management. This role supervises two employees (two Senior Managers, Data Science).

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or related field and 4 years of experience in an analytics related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or related field and 6 years of experience in an analytics related field.

Skills required: Experience using SQL to extract and transform large size data sets. Experience building mathematical models in CPLEX and MS Excel to assess supply chain strategies. Experience developing presentation and reports to summarize insights and recommendations in MS PowerPoint. Experience visualizing and communicating results through dashboards built in Tableau. Experience developing cost baselines and scenario comparison for inputs to financial models to assess project financial returns including NPV and IRR. Experience developing project plans, workplans, milestones, and deliverables in MS Project and Gantt Charts. Experience defining Supply Chain Pilot objectives, scope, success criteria, measurement metrics and definitions, requirements, and inter-dependencies. Experience testing and troubleshooting supply chain model results by creating trends and comparison summaries in Excel, Tableau, SQL, and R. Experience defining and building design requirements and supply chain profile for engineering design including evaluating different automation technologies. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $223,538/year to $338,000/year.  Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
